Blackshire Wealth Management serves high-income families across the Philadelphia Main Line, from Malvern and Wayne to Bryn Mawr and Ardmore. Fee-only, fiduciary, and fully independent.
The financial lives on the Main Line are among the most complex anywhere: dual executive incomes, equity compensation, investment real estate, multigenerational wealth, and the tax complexity that comes with all of it. Many firms handle one piece of this. We coordinate the whole picture.
Blackshire is fully independent, fee-only, and fiduciary. We don't sell products, earn commissions, or answer to a wirehouse. We're legally obligated to act in your best interest on every recommendation we make.
We coordinate investment management, year-round tax strategy (Roth conversions, IRMAA planning, tax-loss harvesting), retirement income planning, estate coordination, equity compensation for tech and pharma professionals, and business owner planning, all under one roof.
High-income professionals, corporate executives, business owners, and families navigating retirement across Malvern, Wayne, Devon, Paoli, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Ardmore, Villanova, Haverford, Radnor, and the surrounding communities. Most of our clients are in the $500K to $5M+ investable asset range.
The Main Line is not one market. It is a string of towns built along the old Pennsylvania Railroad corridor, and the commuter line still defines it. Wayne, with its walkable downtown and train station at the center of everything. Villanova and Bryn Mawr, shaped by the colleges that share their names. Ardmore, anchored by Suburban Square and one of the busiest stations on the line. Haverford and Gladwyne, where quiet streets hold some of the region's oldest family wealth. Paoli at the western end, where the corridor meets Chester County and many of our clients board the train. Each town has its own character. The financial questions travel the whole line.
Main Line wealth today is mostly earned wealth. Executives and senior professionals at the region's pharmaceutical, financial services, and technology employers. Physicians and attorneys who commute into Philadelphia on the Paoli/Thorndale Line. Partners and business owners whose companies sit along Route 30 and the Route 202 corridor. Their balance sheets share a pattern: equity compensation vesting on a schedule, deferred compensation elections made years in advance, a large 401(k), and a house that has appreciated for decades.
Almost all of it sits in Pennsylvania, which has an inheritance tax. Transfers to children and grandchildren are taxed at 4.5%, from the first dollar, with no multimillion exemption. On estates of the size we see on the Main Line, that is a real number. Planning here means managing the equity compensation and deferred compensation while you work, and the inheritance tax exposure in how your estate is structured after. Doing one without the other leaves money on the table. Estimate your family's exposure with our free inheritance tax calculator →
The Main Line is among the most heavily banked stretches of Pennsylvania, with national wirehouses and bank-owned brokerages within a short drive of Lancaster Avenue. Many of the advisors there are capable people. What sets Blackshire apart is structural: our compensation does not depend on the products you hold or the platform you use.
Fee-only means our clients are the only ones who pay us. No commissions, no product quotas, no revenue sharing. When we recommend selling company stock, or holding it, or moving an old 401(k), or leaving it where it is, nobody pays us for the outcome. In a market this crowded, that structural difference is the whole point.
Our office is at 1065 Andrew Drive, Suite 2b in West Chester, an easy drive from anywhere on the Main Line. We also work with clients virtually for those who prefer video meetings.
Founded by Henry Supinski, who spent more than a decade in enterprise tech, six years of it at SAP as a Vice President, before building Blackshire Wealth Management. Supported by Ron Madey (CFA), Ken Kideckel (CFA, CFP®), and a dedicated team.
No. Our office is in West Chester, a short drive from every Main Line town, and we serve clients across Wayne, Villanova, Bryn Mawr, Ardmore, Haverford, Gladwyne, Paoli, and the surrounding communities. Many of our Main Line clients meet with us by video and come to the office once or twice a year, or never. The work is the same either way.
Yes, and it is a core part of our practice. RSU vesting schedules, ESPP decisions, option exercises, and deferred compensation elections all carry tax consequences that compound over a career. Our founder managed these decisions with his own money as a technology executive before starting the firm. We build the vesting calendar, the tax projection, and the diversification plan into one coordinated picture.
Pennsylvania taxes transfers to children and grandchildren at 4.5%, starting from the first dollar. There is no large exemption the way there is with the federal estate tax. Account titling, beneficiary designations, lifetime gifting, and in some cases trust structures all affect what your family ultimately keeps. We model the exposure and coordinate the planning with your estate attorney.
Structure. We are fee-only, which means clients are the only ones who pay us. We sell no products and earn no commissions. We are independent, so no home office sets our recommendations. And we act as a fiduciary on every recommendation we make, not just some of them. Ask any firm you are comparing to put those three things in writing.
